Refund Policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026
The short version: every subscription charge — first payment or renewal, monthly or annual — is refundable in full if you ask within 14 days of the charge. No reason is required. Nothing in this policy reduces your statutory rights.
1. Try before you pay
Every new workspace gets a five-day free trial with unlimited use and no payment method required, so you can evaluate ClauseFrame fully before spending anything. The trial never converts into a paid subscription automatically.
2. 14-day money-back guarantee
If you are not satisfied for any reason, you can have any subscription charge refunded in full by asking within 14 days of the date you were charged. This applies to:
- your first subscription payment on any plan, monthly or annual;
- every automatic renewal charge; and
- an upgrade charge (for example moving from Individual to Small Team).
You do not need to give a reason, and using the service during those 14 days does not reduce the refund: it is always the full amount charged, to the original payment method.
3. Your statutory rights
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a legal right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. This policy meets and exceeds that right: we refund the full charge rather than deducting anything for use, we do not ask you to waive the right at checkout, and the same guarantee applies to renewals, which the statutory right alone does not cover. Consumers elsewhere keep whatever rights their local law provides; where local law gives you more than this policy, local law wins. Nothing here limits any non-excludable statutory right or remedy.
4. After the 14 days
Once 14 days have passed, a billing period that has started is not refunded if you simply cancel: cancellation stops future charges and your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. However, you are still entitled to a refund after the 14 days where something went wrong on our side:
- Billing errors. A duplicate charge, a charge after you cancelled, or a charge at the wrong amount is always refunded in full, whenever you notice it.
- Service failure. If ClauseFrame was materially unavailable or not working as described for a sustained part of a billing period, contact us and we will refund that period in proportion to the failure, or in full where that is the fair outcome.
- Required by law. Anything your local consumer law requires us to refund, we refund.
5. How to request a refund
Email support@clauseframe.com from the email address on the workspace, or reply to your Paddle receipt. Either route works; there is no form to fill in and no retention process to sit through. We aim to respond within two business days.
Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd (or its affiliates) as merchant of record, so the refund itself is issued by Paddle to your original payment method. Refunds are normally visible within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. Where tax (such as VAT) was charged, it is refunded together with the subscription amount. You can also raise a refund directly with Paddle under its buyer terms; both routes lead to the same outcome.
6. Cancelling is separate from refunds
You can cancel at any time from Billing in Settings or through Paddle's customer portal, with no minimum term, no cancellation fee and no retention hurdles. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not by itself trigger a refund of the current period. If you cancel within 14 days of a charge and also want that charge refunded, just say so in the same message.
7. Fair use of this policy
Refunds are deliberately no-questions-asked. The one exception: where the guarantee is being used repeatedly to obtain the paid service for free — for example subscribing, using the service heavily and claiming a refund, several billing periods in a row — we may decline a further goodwill refund. Statutory rights, billing-error refunds and service-failure refunds are never affected by this.
8. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the change applies to charges made after the change is published; a charge is always governed by the policy in force when it was made. Questions can be sent to support@clauseframe.com.
