Review in Microsoft Word, then save the record of decisions.
DueFrame is built around the way small legal teams already review contracts: the document stays in Word, while the website keeps a clear record of what happened.
Open a contract in Word
DueFrame runs inside Microsoft Word as a taskpane. The website is not a browser contract editor.
Confirm the party represented
DueFrame detects likely parties and asks the user to confirm the party they represent before review.
Review suggestions
Proofreading, legal and commercial risk, redline, negotiation and comment suggestions appear in Word.
Apply or Dismiss
The user decides what is Applied, Dismissed or left Unresolved. Applied wording is inserted in Word only after confirmation.
Save the Review record
DueFrame saves safe metadata, counts, summaries, risks and reminders. It does not retain the contract file or text.
DueFrame saves
- metadata-only contract reference;
- party represented;
- Review summary;
- Applied, Dismissed and Unresolved counts;
- safe descriptions of selected suggestions;
- risks and reminders selected by the user.
DueFrame does not save
- contract files;
- complete contract text;
- clause wording or source excerpts;
- redline wording;
- full Word comments;
- document search chunks or embeddings.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the contract review actually happen?
Inside Microsoft Word. DueFrame runs as a Word add-in taskpane, so the document never has to leave Word to be reviewed. The website is not a browser-based contract editor; it holds account settings and the metadata-only records kept after a review.
Does DueFrame change my document automatically?
No. Suggestions are shown in the taskpane and nothing is written to the document until you click Apply. Applied wording is inserted using Word Track Changes, so every change DueFrame makes is visible and reversible in Word itself. In Word for desktop the tracked changes carry your own Word author name, so a redlined document can be sent onward like any other markup you made. (Word on the web has a known Microsoft issue that can show add-in changes as "Unknown".)
How does DueFrame know which side I am on?
It detects the likely parties in the contract and asks you to confirm which one you represent before the review runs. That choice drives the whole review: the same clause can be favourable or dangerous depending on which side you are acting for.
What does DueFrame keep after a review?
Only metadata: the Review record with counts and summaries, plus any risks and reminders you chose to retain. It does not keep contract files, complete contract text, clause wording or source excerpts, redline wording, full Word comments, or document search chunks and embeddings.
Can I edit a suggestion before applying it?
Yes. You decide what is Applied, Dismissed or left Unresolved, and suggested wording can be reviewed before you accept it. Nothing is inserted without your confirmation.
